Greenway GAUV-10S — UV Water Disinfection System

The Greenway GAUV-10S is a compact, high-performance UV water disinfection system engineered for residential and light commercial applications. Built around a high-grade 304 stainless steel chamber and a hard glass, long-life UV lamp, the GAUV-10S delivers 99.99% destruction of bacteria, viruses, and protozoan cysts — without adding any chemicals to your water supply.

The separate electronic ballast controller provides constant lamp current, universal AC input, and a 7-segment LED countdown display that alerts you to lamp failure and reminds you when replacement is due. The single-ended lamp design makes servicing straightforward, and the unique Greenway VuCap lets you visually confirm the UV lamp is operating at a glance.

Key Features

  • 99.99% pathogen destruction — eliminates bacteria (including E. coli), viruses, and protozoan cysts (Cryptosporidium and Giardia lamblia).
  • Chemical-free treatment — no additives, no water chemistry changes, no taste or odour impact.
  • Greenway VuCap — unique visual indicator confirms the UV lamp is on and operating.
  • 7-segment LED countdown display — lamp failure alarm and annual replacement reminder built in.
  • Hard glass, long-life UV lamp — consistent maximum UV output maintained over the full lamp life.
  • Single-ended lamp design — user-friendly lamp changes and easy quartz sleeve cleaning.
  • Electronic ballast controller — universal 100–240V AC input, constant lamp current, low power consumption (35W total).
  • Compact stainless steel chamber — reduced footprint with improved disinfection efficiency.
  • Flexible inlet/outlet — combination ¾” FNPT – 1.0” MNPT ports for easy installation.
  • NSF/ANSI 55 certified — third-party bioassay tested and certified by NSF International (Class B), CSA B483.1, and NSF 372 (low lead content).

Understanding UV System Flow Rates

UV systems are rated according to the flow rate of water they can treat while delivering a specified UV dose. The higher the UV dose, the greater the level of UV treatment provided.

You may see three different flow rates listed for a UV system:

Drinking Water Standard Flow – 40 mJ/cm²
This is the flow rate at which the UV system provides a UV dose of 40 mJ/cm². This is the flow rate we recommend when the system is being used to treat drinking water, providing a higher level of UV treatment.

Nominal Flow – 30 mJ/cm²
This is the manufacturer's nominal rated flow at a UV dose of 30 mJ/cm². It provides a useful reference point when comparing UV system capacities.

Maximum Flow – 16 mJ/cm²
This is the maximum flow rate the UV system can process, but at this higher flow the UV dose is reduced to 16 mJ/cm². This should not be considered the appropriate flow rate for drinking-water applications, and is best for applications such as algae reduction, and clarification.

Which flow rate should I use?

For drinking water applications, we recommend sizing the UV system using the 40 mJ/cm² flow rate, NOT the maximum flow figure.

When choosing a UV system, it's important to consider the maximum flow your property could require at one time, not simply the average daily water use. A system that is too small may not provide the required UV dose when several taps or appliances are operating simultaneously.

If you're unsure which UV system is right for your property, contact WTS and we can help you select a system based on your expected flow rate and application.
