Self-Priming Jet Pumps

Jet pumps are a practical option for drawing and transferring water from suitable shallow water sources. Self-priming models can be useful where the pump is installed above the water source and suction lift is required.

WTS supplies jet pumps for domestic, rural and general water supply applications, including self-priming models from established pump manufacturers.

Where are jet pumps used?

Depending on the model, jet pumps can be suitable for:

- Rural and lifestyle water supplies

- Drawing water from tanks and suitable shallow sources

- Rivers, dams and ponds

- Shallow wells

- Water transfer

- Garden and landscape irrigation

- General water movement

What is a self-priming pump?

A self-priming pump is designed to remove air from the suction line and establish pumping once the pump has been correctly primed. The maximum practical suction lift depends on the pump, installation and water source.

Correct pipe sizing and installation are important for reliable operation. Excessive suction lift, restrictive pipework or air leaks can significantly affect pump performance.

If you are unsure whether a jet pump or submersible pump is the better option for your water source, consider the complete system requirements before choosing a pump.
