Drainage & Sump Pumps

Drainage pumps are designed to remove unwanted water from areas such as sumps, pits, cellars, garages and other low-lying spaces.

Common drainage pump applications

Depending on the model, drainage pumps can be used for:

- Removing stormwater

- Emptying tanks and containers

- General water removal

- Clean or slightly dirty water

The type of water being pumped is an important consideration when selecting a drainage pump. Clean water pumps are not necessarily suitable for water containing solids, sludge or wastewater.

Choosing a drainage pump

Consider the amount of water that needs to be moved, the required discharge height, pipe size and whether the water contains suspended solids or other contaminants.

For applications involving sewage, effluent or significant solids, a dedicated wastewater or effluent pump may be more appropriate.
